Professor Azwihangwisi Edward Muthivhi is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. His research interests are in children's and young people's learning and development in rapidly changing sociocultural contexts of schooling. His research draws from Vygotsky's cultural-historical research framework and its contemporary expansions.
